Phage Display Libraries

Phage display libraries are highly diverse, high-throughput platforms for molecular display and screening. They play an irreplaceable role across multiple sectors, including biotechnology, targeted drug discovery, antibody engineering, and fundamental biological research. Our systems encompass M13 filamentous phage, T7, T4, and lambda phage libraries, alongside customized peptide or natural antibody libraries tailored for specific targets such as pathogens or tumor markers.

Each library system offers unique high-throughput screening characteristics and specialized application advantages:

M13 Filamentous Phage: As a quintessential non-lytic display vector, M13 is the most widely used platform for scFv (single-chain variable fragment) and peptide display. By maintaining a strict link between genotype and phenotype, it remains central to innovative targeted drug discovery, epitope mapping, and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network research.

T7 Phage: A lytic display system known for rapid assembly, high copy numbers, and minimal constraints on the size of displayed fragments. It is ideal for the efficient display of large proteins and cDNA libraries, with significant potential in screening targeted delivery vehicles and novel vaccine development.

Pathogen-Specific Libraries: Our natural phage libraries, customized for clinical multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria (e.g., Staphylococcus aureus), feature diverse host ranges and unique bactericidal mechanisms. These are essential for screening engineered phage chassis and delivering CRISPR systems to precisely intervene in resistance mechanisms.

lambda Phage: A classic, high-efficiency recombinant display system used to resolve the structure and function of complex protein libraries, providing a key model for the directed evolution of high-affinity ligands.

Customized Peptide & Nanobody (VHH) Libraries: These offer diversified value in in vitro diagnostics (IVD), industrial enzyme screening, and whole-cell panning. They enable the large-scale discovery of high-specificity lead compounds and hold promise for next-generation biosensors.

Our Service Advantages

(1) Massive Library Capacity

We achieve exceptional library construction efficiency and sequence diversity (standard peptide/antibody libraries reach capacities of 10^9 to 10^11 or higher). Optimized electroporation and packaging protocols ensure high coverage, high affinity, and low redundancy.

(2) Versatile & Customizable

We support various display formats, including peptides, nanobodies (VHH), scFv, and full-length natural proteins. Screening strategies are fully customizable—including solid-phase, liquid-phase, or whole-cell panning—to suit the physicochemical and structural properties of different target molecules.

(3) Broad Applicability

Our services cover both filamentous and lytic phage systems. We can target purified recombinant antigens as well as complex whole-cell targets (pathogens or host cells), providing end-to-end support from target validation to high-affinity molecule enrichment.

(4) Controllable Timelines

Standard library construction and screening projects typically range from 2 to 4 months (2–3 months for natural/immune libraries; 3–4 months for large-scale synthetic libraries or specialized panning). Standardized workflows ensure reliable and reproducible screening results.
