Human Cot-1 DNA Pro

Human Cot-1 DNA  Pro is a highly purified preparation of human genomic highly repetitive sequences approximately 50–300 bp in length. As a core blocking reagent, it is widely used in various nucleic acid hybridization assays, including Northern blotting, Southern blotting, Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), and liquid-phase hybridization capture. It can conveniently and efficiently block repetitive sequences in probe or sample nucleic acids, masking common repeat families such as Alu and LINE, thereby avoiding non-specific signal interference during hybridization, improving hybridization specificity, and enabling effective capture of target nucleic acid sequences, thus playing a key blocking role. Compared with conventional Human Cot-1 DNA, Human Cot-1 DNA Pro is manufactured using a unique fragmentation process, resulting in smaller and more concentrated fragment sizes. It significantly reduces false-positive and background signals in chromosomal in situ hybridization, delivering more accurate and reliable experimental results. Meanwhile, it provides a high blocking efficiency of over 95%, strict quality control standards, and high batch-to-batch consistency, offering superior support for various hybridization experiments.

Human Cot-1 DNA Pro

1. Product Introduction

Human Cot-1 DNA  Pro is a highly purified preparation of human genomic highly repetitive sequences approximately 50–300 bp in length. It can conveniently and efficiently block the repetitive sequences in probes or nucleic acid sequences of test samples, thereby avoiding non-specific hybridization signals during nucleic acid hybridization, improving hybridization performance, and ultimately achieving effective capture of target nucleic acid sequences, thus functioning as a blocking reagent. Experiments demonstrate that Human Cot-1 DNA Pro reduces false-positive signals caused by repetitive sequences and lowers background hybridization signals in chromosomal in situ hybridization, leading to more accurate and reliable experimental results. Most importantly, Human Cot-1 DNA Pro has smaller and more concentrated fragment sizes than conventional Human Cot-1 DNA, enabling better suppression of non-specific DNA binding.

2. Applications

Human Cot-1 DNA Pro is mainly used in Northern blotting, Southern blotting, in situ hybridization (tissue In situ hybridization, somatic cell In situ hybridization, fluorescence In situ hybridization), and liquid-phase hybridization capture. Inaddition, Human Cot-1 DNA Pro can also be used as a library screening probe for the screening of somatic cell hybrid libraries and flow-sorted chromosome libraries constructed from somatic cell hybrids.
